Making operation-critical decisions is a natural and integral part of any maritime business, exactly what operational crews on- and offshore do every day. It’s a constant process of evaluation and decisions to ensure continued and safe operations. This process is hardly ever an easy one. Historically crew members would base decision-making on individual experience and knowledge, but thanks to technology, decision-makers today have access to a huge amount of data, supposed to make the process a lot easier.

The number of different tools and systems, the amount of data available and the strategies designed to streamline the decision-making are often overwhelming and need to be processed and understood. Miros sensors can be mounted on fixed and floating maritime assets, as stand-alone sources or inter-connected systems precisely providing the sea state and weather data at the exact location you require – whether you work in the offshore wind sector, ports & coastal or exploration & production, or with any type of offshore operations.

A good example of our products’ versatility is the RangeFinder, a downward-facing airgap, tide and wave radar originally developed for ports and bridge applications. Today the RangeFinder includes optional motion compensation for use on vessels and other floating assets and is the only DNV GL-certified product on the market for alpha-factor-related wave monitoring.
